3 Make Ahead Christmas Breakfast Ideas

Best Morning of the Year

Now that we are officially in December, I can’t help but think about Christmas morning. There are so many wonderful things about Christmas morning–I love my first cup of coffee by the tree, exchanging gifts with Ryan and opening our stockings. I always try to have something yummy and special for Christmas breakfast, and there are so many ways you could go with this. From sweet to savory, I love hearing about your different Christmas morning traditions. So today I thought I would round up a few *make-ahead* breakfast recipes to really make Christmas morning easy.

Honestly, I love the idea of having all the hard work done and just popping something in the oven or taking it out of the refrigerator. This is especially great if you have a houseful on Christmas Day, and don’t want to miss anything playing chef in the kitchen. I just love how recipes like these really take the pressure off and deliver big results with just a little prep!

Oatmeal Bake

One-Bowl Chocolate Chip Banana Baked Oatmeal

via Minimalist Baker (gf/df*)

This oatmeal bake is a fantastic make ahead dish, and one of our favorites! I make this year round, but there is something about it that just feels special. You can assemble it and bake it off in the morning, or do the whole recipe, start to finish, and then reheat it in the morning. There are only 10 ingredients in this one, and you can store it in the refrigerator for up to four days. I love an oatmeal bake because it’s a little bit of a sweet treat, but it’s filling and comforting all at the same time!

I love serving alongside soft scrambled eggs! Trust me when I say it’s *SO* good.

Freezer Breakfast Burritos

via SkinnyTaste

Every once in a while, Ryan and I get on a breakfast burrito/breakfast taco kick, and what I love about the burritos is you can make several all at once, and then put them in the freezer. This can be totally customized to your likes, food preferences, and allergy concerns. I like to make an egg scramble with lots of veggies, add a couple pieces of bacon, and wrap it up (Ryan likes to put a little cheese in his)! A sweet potato hash with chicken sausage would be another excellent filling for these burritos. I would serve them with fresh fruit and hashbrowns.

Gina over at Skinnytaste has a great step by step of best freezer practices. Generally, I wrap ours in foil and seal them in a zip top freezer bag. On Christmas Eve, you can put them in the fridge to let them thaw out a bit and then bake them in the oven on Christmas Morning (I also think these would be great in the air fryer!).

This would be such an easy Christmas breakfast . … and who doesn’t love a breakfast burrito?!?!

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls

via Alton Brown + Food Network

Cinnamon Rolls feel like the quintessential Christmas morning breakfast! It’s total comfort food, and is there anything better than a warm cinnamon roll right out of the oven? I think not! I love this recipe because it has you making the dough, and the cinnamon filling, and situating the rolls in the pan. Then you stick them in the refrigerator overnight and pop them in the oven in the morning.

This recipe is such a great way to prepare something delicious on such a special morning. I think these will taste extra sweet knowing all the hard work is behind you!
