The Sweetest Weekend

I really didn’t want this weekend to end.   It was one of the sweetest we have had in a while. On Friday night we went out to celebrate our 4th anniversary, which was a total treat. We don’t get out much these days so we felt like rebels “risking it” at our favorite restaurant. When we walked into Hillstone the hostess guided us to our table, right by the window, was this GORGEOUS display of roses was waiting for me… I burst into tears. Ryan is the romantic one. I thought I was all mushy-gushy until I met him 5 years ago and he has been out-romancing me ever since. This was a classic Ryan move and it was so wonderful to feel normal for a night.

We ordered champagne, watched the sunset, and talked the night away. To make the night even sweeter, some friends of ours from church had spotted us making googly eyes at each other all night and secretly paid our bill. I burst into tears yet again when our waiter delivered the news.  It was SUCH an incredible evening where you could actually feel the love. I didn’t want it to end.

Saturday, I spent the day at Walmart with L’Oreal doing makeovers on shoppers. I’ve got to tell you, there isn’t anything better than watching these makeovers. The way women look at themselves in the mirror after they’ve been shown how to apply makeup correctly is beyond magical.  It was such a fun afternoon changing peoples lives, one lip gloss at a time.

And on Sunday, my family came over for dinner and “family portraits”. My dad is a photographer, so the family Christmas card has ALWAYS been a big deal.  Since my parents get so busy once October hits we always try to make our photos happen in September! It ended up being such a fun night! After photos we ate dinner, baked cookies, and laughed until we cried… I didn’t want them to leave!

It really was the perfect weekend.

5 Things I’m Loving

1. Chunky Hoops: I got these gold chunky hoops last week and have been wearing them like crazy ever since! They seem to go with absolutely everything. I’m super into hoops right now and if you are looking for a great pair, I can’t recommend them enough!

2. Cropped Jeans: Okay, I’m obsessed with these jeans (seen here). I picked them up before heading to NYFW a couple of weeks ago and I am SO glad I did. Seriously, I’m so obsessed. Not only are they incredibly comfortable but they are flattering too! If you are on the edge about buying cropped jeans, do it. They will make you feel like a million bucks!

3. New Book: I finally started Marriage Vacation over the weekend and so far I’m loving it. I’m only about 50 or so pages in, but I’m such a fan of Younger that it’s an easy book to dive right into!

4. Classic Capped Toe Shoes: I picked these shoes up a few weeks ago and I broke them in this weekend at my L’Oreal event… I’ve had my eye on them for over a year now and I finally pulled the trigger! I think they are the perfect shoe for Fall!

5. In-Shower Styler: I’ve been trying out so many new hair products lately.  Usually, I’m all into the skincare, but recently I’ve been all about the hair. This past week I used this in-shower hair styler twice and I am now obsessed. I’m telling you, it makes a huge difference in the way my hair holds a curl. Since my hair is super fine and stick straight, the in-shower styler is giving it some texture… and I’m loving it!

Wishing you the happiest of Mondays!
