The Best Orlando Donuts

(Or is that Best Orlando Doughnuts…does it matter??)

Welcome to the first installment of my Orlando Guide Series on where to find the best Orlando Donuts! A few weeks ago I called up a handful of my girlfriends and asked if they would be interested in joining me on a donut crawl.  I as expected received a resounding “UM, YES!!” So I told everyone a date, time, and to wear their stretchy pants because it was going to be a long, fun, sugar coma inducing day.  Honestly, it was all that in more. We laughed until we cried, consumed more calories than I’d like to admit, and made memories I’ll never forget. So whether you are in it for the long haul or just looking for a sweet treat, this guide is for you!

Below are my top 5 favorite donut spots around Orlando and Winter Park, so I hope you enjoy!

Donut King

Donut King is a staple here in Orlando and people are very loyal to their amazing donuts! The traffic in and out of the store alone in a 30 minute period speaks for itself.  DK’s donuts are pretty traditional and while there is nothing fancy about the location itself, their sugary confections hit the spot!

Pro Tip: Donut King is known for their maple bacon, red velvet, and fruity pebbles flavors… don’t leave without trying them!

Little Blue Donut Co

Little Blue Donut Co. is pretty new to the area and they started out as a food truck! Their donuts are made to order so you know you are getting them as fresh as possible. The ordering system is very unique, it’s kind of like ordering sushi! They have a cute little menu where you check off which flavors you want. They come out super warm with a crunchy outside and a super soft inside. The location is super cute and modern, definitely a great spot to hang out.

Pro Tip: The jelly roll and the Samoa donuts are fan favorites!

The Glass Knife

Simply based off aesthetics, this place is AMAZING. If heaven was full of pastries and all things pink it would look like The Glass Knife. They also serve food and delicious coffee, but of course, our mission was to try the donuts.  Their donuts come covered in glitter and are artfully decorated… that alone is enough to convince me to come back. If you’re looking for a spot to gush with your girlfriends over coffee and donuts I would have to say this is the one!

Pro Tip: Go for brunch, and save the donut for dessert, you won’t be sorry!

Bakery Plus

First off, I love that Bakery Plus’ sign says “Fresh Donuts” and not their actual name… If that sets the stage for the epic-ness that awaits you inside, I don’t know what does. Bakery Plus is definitely a hole in the wall, yet the donuts are AMAZING. It is super popular here in Orlando and for good reason. The Sour Cream donuts are so delicious you will want to go back for more. In fact, they sell over 500 of them before noon every day. I would suggest grabbing some donuts to go and heading home to enjoy them, but they are so worth it!

Pro Tip: Cheapest donut in town starting at .85! Also, their bagel sandwiches are out of this world.

Valkyrie Donuts

Vegan friends, this one is for you! Valkyrie Donuts is amazing and they are entirely Vegan and Dairy Free! They have very unique flavors like Strawberry Passionfruit, French Toast, Thin Mint and more! Their donuts are scratch made, hand cut, and I promise you won’t miss the dairy one bit! These were some of our faves from the day and definitely worth a try.

Pro Tip: The UFO donut is UNREAL. It’s like a cinnamon roll and a donut had a baby.

  1. I am SO excited you’re doing an Orlando guide series! I just moved back to the area from NYC and was actually going to send you a message to request some Orlando guides but you’re way ahead of me. My best friend and I will have to do a doughnut crawl of our own—she was just asking me to go with her to The Glass Knife 🙂

  2. My sister lives in Orlando and I’m coming down for a visit at the end of September. I’m definitely going to see if we can hit one or more of these spots!

  3. I’m going to have to try some of these places! I’ve been wanting to go to the Glass Knife, but I’m usually next door at Chuys. Haha.
You should come up to Sanford and try Donuts To Go. The maple bacon donut is delicious 🙂
