The Book Edit | No. 01
All the cozy fall books just waiting for us…
Hello, hello! First off, thank you for hanging in there with me, reading along with our book club, and building such a fun community for us. The Ashley Brooke Book Club has brought me so much joy over the years and when I think of all the books we’ve read together it makes me so happy!
So as you know, this summer we switched it up a little and announced our book picks a few months in advance… you guys, this was such a hit that we are going to keep this format going. Though we did pick a stand-alone book for September and wasn’t it so cute?! Honestly we have so many fun things in store for the Ashley Brooke Book Club and this is just the beginning. But for now, let’s read!
Ashely Brooke Book Club Fall Picks
Okay, so below are the lovely fall reads that we chose for October, November, and December, and just want to curl up by a fire (with this!) and enjoy. We’ll dive into them more over on Instagram so be sure to follow us along and let us know what you think. Happy reading!
October

A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston
You guys, I’ve already read this one, which is why I just *had* to recommend it! We all know I love Ashley Poston (we read The Seven Year Slip together!), and her latest is SO CUTE! A Novel Love Story is about a professor of literature who finds herself caught up in a work of fiction… literally. It’s full of the magical realism that I really love in her books, so read it, you’ll love it!
November

A Queen’s Game by Katharine McGee
We are HUGE Katharine McGee fans around here, as you know (we’ve interviewed her here and here*) and we just cannot wait for her new release! It’s a visit to 19th-century Europe amid the glamour and intrigue of the Victorian era… a historical romance inspired by true events, when three princesses struggle to find love—and end up vying for the hearts of two future kings. GAH! We can’t wait for A Queen’s Game to be released on November 12!
December

Kiss Me At Christmas by Jenny Bayliss
Speaking of queens, the Queen of Christmas books is back with the sweetest story of love during the holidays. With a merry cast of characters and a story full of heart, Kiss Me at Christmas is sure to be a delight start to finish. It’s definitely giving us Hallmark movie vibes, which is the very best at Christmastime. Will definitely be cozied up to read this come December!

Fall New Releases On Our Radar
There are so SO many good books being released into the world now, soon, and a little later. Like this one by my favorite podcaster, Kendra Adachi… I can’t wait to dive into The Plan: Manage Your Time Like a Lazy Genius, because honestly, I could use all the time management help right now! Anyways, here are a few others on our radar…

What we’re reading right now… *
From the editors

I just started Miranda in Retrograde, and so far it’s a fun light-hearted (semi-spooky!) book… perfect to listen to while folding laundry and whipping up pumpkin bread!
Ashley Brooke

I just finished The Night We Lost Him by Laura Dave. It was so good: A propulsive family story of love and loss disguised as a really great mystery. I listened to it on Libro.FM and the audio was fantastic.
Betsy

Honestly, I can’t believe I’m admitting this… but I’m very very into A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas (the third in the ACOTAR series), and the books have hooked me in all ways possible. Turns out, I’m a fantasy reader now!

Love this new format! It’s so easy to reserve the titles and/or know what I need to order. So many of these authors are old favorites too so I look forward to new stories. Praying for y’all and so many others in the storm’s wake XO
