We Are Moving!

So excited for what is next…

I can’t believe I finally get to type these words out, but we have officially sold our home and are moving at the end of spring! I’ll get into all the details below, but I have been so excited to tell you and am thrilled to finally be able to share the scoop behind what we’ve been up to for these last few months!

We close on our new home at the end of the month, then it’s full steam ahead! By June we will have a new home AND a baby, and honestly my head is spinning thinking about it.

After twelve sweet years in this special little home we are so excited to hand over the keys to its new owner! Just knowing all the happy moments that are to come for them in these walls makes me even more excited to pass the baton of this wonderful place. Of course it’s bittersweet, as we poured our heart and soul into this home, but truthfully, we have so much peace about it that more than anything we are excited for what’s ahead.

But let’s back up shall we….

For the past few years we have been feeling the nudge that it was time to move, but we haven’t had much clarity on logistics. Truthfully it’s been the topic of most of our conversations for years now but all of our efforts just kept coming up short. We had been to so many open houses, chatted with so many realtors, and were deep into putting in offers, and again, nothing. It was beginning to get fairly frustrating, especially with this deep-seated feeling that a move was in our future, feeling strongly that God was in this with us… so we waited and waited.

Over the summer we stalled a bit in our search after a couple of big life events that just kind put everything on pause. So we decided to table the conversation as our table was already very full.

But then in the fall, we found out we were pregnant with our second miracle baby and it gave us fresh energy and inspiration to pick up where we left off! We started getting even more serious about finding a home and I told everyone in earshot that we were looking to move.

Which is so funny, because our new home, the one we had been searching for for years, ended up being barely a block away. After a series of God-ordained events (truly!) and a friend-of-a-friend situation, we found out that a neighbor was looking to sell their home. They invited us over to take a peek the first week of December and it felt like home *the second* we stepped in. And thirty minutes later we practically did a handshake deal in the foyer.

We finally had the peace, clarity, and direction we had been praying for and it was worth the wait! I still can’t believe that this house has been right under our noses for YEARS and we had no idea what the future had in store. I love how God works and the stories He pens, truly unbelievable.

A couple weeks later we put our current home on the market and it sold that weekend! Y’all it’s been a crazy ride.

Needless to say we are SO EXCITED. We get the keys to our new home at the end of the month and we are jumping in head first with a few renovations! The home is so lovely as is and move-in ready, but gosh, we’ve been itching for a new project since finishing our home a few years ago… the new home is giving us so many great spaces to work with.

The timeline will be a bit nuts, we are renting our home back to the new owners right now and will be officially moving in during baby month! Send thoughts and prayers!

I’m really excited for so many things when it comes to this new home… the extra space, the yard, but mostly the layout! Ryan and I will have our own offices and the kids (!) will each have their own rooms. Honestly that alone feels like a dream. And our first *big* project will be closing the back porch in for a sunroom/playroom. I can’t sleep just thinking about all the new memories to be had as a family of four there. Plus I just know Dolly will THRIVE in her new backyard (but will also miss this sweet space!).

Anyway… wow, quite the life update for you today, but I felt like we needed a true catch up! And now I can share the design process, and I’m really excited about that! We’ve had so much fun making our current house feel like home with the floor, kitchen, bathroom, nursery, and outdoor renovations that we can’t wait to do it all over again with you!

I know I say this a lot, but thank you for being here, for cheering our family on. You’ll never know how grateful I am for you, and especially in these big life moments, you really are the very best. xx

P.S. If you are curious, we’ve already been pinning away! Feel free to follow along.

  1. Congratulations. Can’t wait to see you and Ryan create another beautiful home. Your kitchen is one of my favourite.

  2. Oh, Ashley. I’ve been following you for years now. You and your family are so blessed. I love hearing you speak about how richly God has blessed you and directed your path. As I read your message, I began to cry because of all the missed opportunities in my life due to circumstances that were not especially good (other than my children). I need some things to change and God to bless my life as well (I’m older than you). You are such a blessing and make me want to be even just a little bit like you. You radiate. I’m so happy for you and all the blessings that are following you. Keep letting us peek into your life. It always gives me something to look forward to.

  3. Congratulations to you & Ryan, on both your baby girl & new home What an exciting time for you. God will give you what you can handle. It will be busy, but it will be worth the temporary chaos. Your current home looks like a gem, how lucky the new owners are to come after you. Positive energy & prayers in your next chapter!

  4. I’m so excited for you!! I have followed you for awhile and there have been hints that you would need a larger home at some point so this didn’t surprise me. I can’t wait to see pictures/videos.

  5. YAY! Congrats Chambers family!
Admittedly, I’ve been waiting to hear when the announcement was coming as I’ve been watching your home pinterest board grow, ha! I just got married and was looking for some living room inspo – and thought, “surely Ashley has some things pinned” and I stumbled on the (very active) home board and just knew 😉 CONGRATULATIONS! So many exciting things!!!!!!!

  6. Congratulations! I’ve sort of been expecting this after the baby news. Such an exciting season of life. Can’t wait to see it.

  7. We moved states when I was 8 months pregnant with our second (a girl!) and it has all worked out so beautifully. I feel very lucky that we were able to find the right home for us on a timeline that worked well. (not that it wasn’t stressful, but it did work out!!)

Thinking of you and your sweet family during this time!

  8. How exciting!!! What a blessing to find a home so close and have the ability to move before baby!! Thrilled for your growing family!!
