The Last 6 Books I’ve Read

It’s been a while since I’ve done a book update for you here so I thought it would be fun to do a round-up of the last few books I’ve read or am in the process of reading. If you are like me you’re ALWAYS looking for a new book so hopefully, this list is extra helpful.  As always I’d love your suggestions as well. I like to keep a running list so I’m never without my next book! So leave your suggestion in the comments below, I’ll be taking notes!

And hopefully, you have the day off today and are able to pop into a bookstore or better yet, same day Amazon prime one of these and snuggle up on your couch with a cup of coffee!

Surprise Me – Sophie Kinsella
honestly I haven’t met a Sophie Kinsella book I didn’t like. I just started this book on Friday and am on chapter 5.  Such a fun and easy read! Also, if you like Sophie’s books you’ll love her audio books, they are always narrated by a woman with the most charming English accent!

Of Mess & Moxie – Jen Hatmaker
I have laughed out loud until I cried with this book. I’m a big fan of Jen Hatmaker and love her books, but this one is HILARIOUS and also wonderful. A good friend of mine gifted it to me and I am so glad she did! If you haven’t read it yet, you absolutely must.

The Dollhouse – Fiona Davis
This book was really interesting. I loved the flipping back and forth in time, which had me coming back to find out what really happened.  Although, I have to admit that this book took me a while to finish, I found the middle a little slow. But all in all it was a good read!

Seven Days of Us – Francesca Hornak
I flew through this book and I can’t recommend it enough. Such a great story line and it was definitely a page turner… so many good plot lines. Plus I actually read this at our family cabin where there were six of us cooped in a cabin for a week, if that gives any hints on the storyline. I’d highly recommend this one!
Rules of Civility – Amor Towles
This book was both haunting and captivating. Ryan and I listened to this one over the holidays while we were driving from house to house and party to party. We’d often pause the book and rewind just to re-listen to a sentence or two. If you haven’t yet read this book, you need to get it ASAP.

Party Girls Die in Pearls – Plum Sykes
Plum Sykes’ writing is always such a hoot. Bergdorf Blondes is still one of my favorite chicklit books and Party Girls Die In Pearls does not disappoint!  If you are looking for a fun girly mystery… this is the book for you!

  1. If you haven’t read anything from Melanie Shankle of Big Mama blog (it isn’t what you think), you are missing out! I have read Sparkly Green Earrings and The Antelope in the Room. I haven’t read her other books, but those 2 have made me laugh and are great reads into her life. She has great humor and you will want to meet her.
I also enjoyed Interrupted and For the Love by Jen Hatmaker.
    Be blessed 🙂

  2. Sophie Kinsella is one of my favorite authors! I just read “My Not So Perfect Life” last fall and I’ve been looking forward to reading “Surprise Me” since it was announced. Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll have to add all of these to my Good Reads list.

    • Mine too! I looooooved My Not So Perfect Life! You’ll have to let me know what you think of Surprise Me when you finish! xo

  3. I am going to Hawaii for a week in May and I bought Surprise Me and Seven Days of Us to read by the pool! I just hope I can wait that long to crack them open!
