How To Create A Festive Holiday Bookshelf
The nursery is now full of Christmas cheer…
I look forward to decorating this little book nook in Laurens’ nursery each season. It’s one of those things that just makes me so happy! We spend a lot of time reading each day because we both love it so much and it’s about the only time he will sit still, so I try and take advantage.
Most mornings we spend about 30 or so minutes reading in his rocking chair while he drinks his milk and I have my coffee! Truly one of our favorite times of day… so I’m always collecting books whether they are from the library, a local bookstore, or Amazon and rotating them throughout the month. Because you can only read Little Blue Truck one-million times before you need to start talking about a new truck!
And when it’s a season or holiday change I love to add little garlands and twinkly lights, Christmas books, blankets, and stuffies… and obviously for Christmas I added a little tree complete with felt dinosaurs! (And here’s the fall bookshelf if you want to take a peek!)
It’s really a simple tradition, but one I’ve had so much fun with. So if you are looking for a way to add a little cheer, think about a tiny corner or bookshelf that with a few small touches can become a really festive spot in your home!
