This week’s Desk Obsessed features the super talented and crazy sweet Lindsay Phillips of Lindsay Phillips Switch Flops! Lindsay and I met a few months ago through twitter, once we realized that we were both Central Florida girls we met for lunch and became fast friends! She’s a brilliant business woman, and her shoes are so comfy… If you ask me, that’s a winning combo! I’m lucky to call Lindsay a friend and I’m so excited to have her on the blog today! And don’t worry! I’ve got all the good dish on LP’s desk ““ from pens to snacks to music: all the fancy details! Hope you enjoy!
P.S. These are my favorite of Lindsay’s shoes… and I have a hand full of her fun snaps! So cute, right?!
Name and Occupation
Lindsay Phillips
Founder and creative director of Lindsay Phillips LLC which is the home of switchflops.
Is your desk more OCD organized or artistically organized chaos?
My desk starts out organized and then usually becomes artistically organized chaos by the end of the day. Post it notes all over the place and, to do lists piled up, travel itineraries scattered around….the list goes on.
What’s your go to pen or pencil? (We know you have a favorite!)
I love my Le Pens by Marvy. I am a color kind of girl, so the cooler the color the happier I am.
What are you listening to at your desk these days?
I am a huge John Mayer fan. I am listening to his new CD at the moment….I mix in some Jack Johnson occasionally. Actually , I just got the Best of Kokua Festival CD and it is awesome. When I need to wake up or get pumped up I listen to Coldplay and a little Wiz Khalifa.
If you prefer to work in silence, is there a song or album that’s gets your juices flowing when you’re stuck in a rut?
I definitely have ADD, so when I really need to focus it needs to be pure silence for me.
Are there snacks or treats within arms reach of your desk? What are they?
Well, the first thing I need is coffee. Coffee seems to be a constant for me throughout the day. For snacks I usually go for nuts, bananas, or my favorite thing this second, which is seedless watermelon.
What 3 Things on your desk keep you on track and inspired?
1. I am a huge quote person, so I have a list of quotes above my computer on my bulletin board that I look at every day.
2. My Ernst + Young Entrepreneur of the year badge with my name on it. When I hit a tough day I look at this and remember how far I have come from day one of starting my company….This keeps me moving forward.
3. The pantone colors for my line for the season….That way I never get confused working a year ahead on design.
4. My new favorite….Jo Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin diffuser that smells amazing. My surroundings have always been very important to me. I need a nice inspiring place to work.
