Easy Backyard Date Night

… but make it fancy!

As you already know, I am a sucker for all things Valentine’s! I *love* a theme and any excuse to go a bit over the top, you know?! So today I’m sharing THE EASIEST date night idea of all time, a back yard picnic.

Going to a restaurant on Valentine’s Day with your love or your girlfriends can be so frustrating with long waits, crowds, etc. But if you are like me and still love going all out for no reason at all, take it to the backyard! 😉

Ryan and I have little mini backyard date nights all the time, every once in a while I’ll pull out all the stops like this. But sometimes it’s as simple as two lawn chairs under the twinkle lights while we eat ice cream, play cards, and chat about the week! Regardless, it’s always a good time.

A few years ago a handful of girlfriends and I got together and did a fancy Galantine’s night in my backyard. It was an absolute BLAST. We had charcuterie, cocktails, and sweetest… I think about that night often, it was just so much fun!

Also, I love the idea of doing an Ice Cream Social in the backyard. My friend Melissa did one a few months ago and it was adorable.

So really the options are endless to making sweet memories with your favorite people, these are just a few ideas!

But for this little Valentine date night under the twinkle lights we made homemade pizza and brought out the sparkling water for me ;), wine for him! Lit a few candles and ate dinner off the good china. There was little to it to be honest, but it really felt special. Which is all I ever want.

Hopefully this will give you a little inspiration for your weekend!
