a group eating a tablesource

Sometimes when you’re out at a restaurant things can come up at the meal that be embarrassing to you or to the restaurant.  How do we gracefully handle these snafus?

What should you do when you drop something?  Maybe its silverware or your napkin, do you pick it up?? ask for another? In most cases quietly explain to your waiter what you dropped and ask for a replacement.  The exception would be if your dropped utensil, etc. is in the way of traffic and could cause someone to trip, etc.

Your glass or knife is unclean: Don’t make a big announcement, just discreetly ask for a replacement

You see a hair or a bug: Once again, being discreet is key.  Ask for a replacement and encourage your table mates to continue eating.
