My Favorite Dairy Free Finds

… Because I’ll never be able to give up ice Cream
I get a lot of questions about allergy friendly foods. I know I’ve mentioned it here a thousand times, but in my immediate family alone there is a gluten, dairy, nut, and soy allergy so I’ve had to become pretty stinkin’ creative in the kitchen! As of recent for me, it’s dairy. I’ve been dairy-free for about a year now, which is crazy, but my stomach and skin thank me every day!
Cutting a food group out of your diet is never easy and dairy is especially tough. Fortunately, these days there are some really great substitute brands out there. I’ve been discovering them over the last year and they’ve become absolute staples on my grocery list, so I thought I’d share them with you! So if you are in the diary-free category or just dipping your toe in to see what that might look like for you, below are a few of my favorites. You’ll notice a trend with chocolate… because let’s be real, that’s what we all really want anyway!
Favorite Dairy Free Brands:

Alyssa’s Vegan Cookies:
I pretty much NEVER leave home without these! They are like a granola bar and a cookie had a baby. I eat one every morning before the gym and always keep one or two in my handbag. These are a staple in our house.
*Tip: When searching for dairy free baked items look for Vegan on the label. Most manufactures put GF and V instead of Dairy Free. It will keep you from spending hours in the grocery store!
I get mine at Publix, but they are available online as well.

So Delicious Dark Chocolate Truffle Cashew Milk
You aren’t going to believe me on this one, but honestly I think this is better than regular chocolate ice cream. I know, I know, it’s a bold statement… but just try it! Even Ryan, who is an ice cream aficionado, has become addicted. Just try it, I promise you won’t be disappointed. It’s so creamy and rich… and about half the calories of regular ice cream.
Also I’ve tried the other coconut varieties from this brand, but honestly, their cashew milk kind is the closest to the real thing. And this one is the best… I wouldn’t even waist my time on the other ones!
We buy this at Publix, but here is the store locater for you to find this magical ice cream near you!

Emmy’s Macaroons
I first discovered this brand at Starbucks while waiting in line and grabbed a bag before ordering my latte. I’ve been hooked ever since. If you like coconut you will LOVE these! They are rich and super satisfying. I’ve had the vanilla and the dark chocolate cacao and loved them both. These are my favorite little treats to have on hand.
You can buy them online here & here, also I recently spotted them at our local CVS!

Theo Organics Salted Almond Dark Chocolate Bar
This has been my favorite chocolate bar I’ve found yet! During the holiday’s all I wanted were s’mores so I went on a mission to find a Hershey’s Chocolate substitute and that’s when I stumbled across Theo Organics. I’m obsessed with them and now always have a bar in the pantry. Also, I’ve tried the different flavors and they’re all good, but to me salted almond is really the best!
I buy mine at Publix or Whole Foods, but you can also snag them here!

Daiya Cheezy Mac
This is probably my most favorite find of them all! Seriously. Dairy-free macaroni and cheese that actually tastes delicious!?! YES. I’ve tried the other flavors but the white cheddar is my favorite. I will steam a bag of broccoli and mix it in with some browned ham and voila! Comfort food without the stomach ache.
This is a Publix find, but I’ve seen them everywhere!

Daiya Pizza
The same brand as above, Daiya makes what I think is the best dairy-free cheese. So needless to say their frozen pizzas are also delicious!

Elmhurst Cashew Milk
(the Best Cashew Milk For Lattes)
And last but definitely not least, Elmhurst cashew milk. We often make our own cashew or almond milk at home, but when we buy it, my very favorite brand is Elmhurst. I’ve tried every alternative milk under the sun and so far this one has been my absolute favorite. It tastes wonderful.
It also makes the best cashew milk latte. The milk froths and doesn’t become bitter when heated. So if you are all about the at home latte, you can’t go wrong. If you are looking for a great substitute I’d highly recommend this one!
Again, we get this at Publix but you can buy it online here as well!
That’s it, all of my favorite dairy free brands. Hopefully this is extra helpful for those of you who need it! Also, I’d love to hear from you all if you have my favorites…or anything I need to try, because let’s be real, we are all in this together!

Thank you so much for posting this.
I’m currently dairy free while I breastfeed and it’s been so hard to find good treats! I can’t wait to try them all. <3
Heather, I’m so glad to hear it! You’ll have to let me know if you find any favorites! xx
You must try Coconut Bliss ‘ice creams’ made with coconut milk and heavenly. The chocolate is my favourite.
Oh, I definitely will… sounds amazing! Thank you for the tip!
xo
Um, that was supposed to say bloodWORK
hahah! No worries! Happens all the time!
Thank you for this information! Cutting dairy from my diet “took away†my daughters reflux symptoms when I was breastfeeding and then I put it back in my diet. Now I’m cutting it again bc some bloodworm showed my body reacts to it. So I’m only on week 3ish and feel so good and this is a good post for me go reference!
It’s definitely hard, but totally worth it especially if your body is telling you it’s not working! Good luck, friend!
