For The Love Of The Caftan
My latest dress obsession.
Well, I don’t know what I’ve been doing with my life, but I feel like I’ve been missing out on the magic of the caftan for far too long. So I’m here to say, NO LONGER! I’m officially a fan.
Over the years I’ve definitely worn caftans, but mostly over swimwear or with belts. And this season the belt isn’t really an option for me! So I’ve fully embraced the flow-y caftan life and I’m never going back. It’s truly the best.
There is something so chic, simple, and effortless about this silhouette that makes it so appealing, not to mention the comfort factor (very!). But I do think accessories are what make the look feel completely pulled together. A good pair of statement earrings, gold heels, and a fun bag really take these dresses next level and ready for an afternoon (or night!) out.
I found this gorgeous lavender caftan at H&M a few weeks ago, and I couldn’t wait to try it on. It’s so fun for a low-key brunch or dressed up for a night out! It comes in a few other colors too, including this pretty sand option. They would both be be S-T-U-N-N-I-G with this pair of gold sandals, big hoops, a red lip, and slicked-back bun…can you picture it?! Also, I definitely need to mention the $25 price point, so good!
A Few Favorites From The List
Below I rounded up a handful of my favorites from all different price points, but I want to highlight a few of my favorites. I have this incredible olive green one with the fringe (last worn here) and it’s SO much fun to wear. Also, how sweet is this daisy one? LOVE the details and the price! Oh, and this light blue one is so chic, I can’t get over it. And lastly, if this rainbow one doesn’t make you happy, I don’t know what will!!
Two things I want to note about styling the caftan life: I like to wear them with a slip dress underneath if the dress happens to be on the sheer side or even little shorties like these (here’s the maternity version) for extra comfort. I mentioned this in Tuesday’s post—I really love a good short and you know how I feel about a slip. Just makes me feel more secure in a flow-y dress, yes please!
