Gluten & Dairy Free Thanksgiving Menu

Eat & Be Merry
Thanksgiving is definitely my favorite of the Winter holiday line up! It feels so festive and full of excitement. Like the official start of the count down to Christmas! Last year Ryan and I hosted our very first Thanksgiving and it was a big backyard affair. We had both of our families, a handful of friends, and a 23-pound turkey! ha! This year will be a little different, but still just as sweet.

The Sunday before Thanksgiving Ryan and I will be hosting my family for an intimate at home dinner! It will be the first time having my family over since our renovation and I cannot WAIT to officially break in our kitchen. And then a few days later we will be spending Thursday with Ryan’s family. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to safely see both of our families this year. I wasn’t sure it was going to happen and I’m beyond grateful!

So as you can imagine, I’ve been scouring the internet for recipes. On both my side and Ryan’s side we have lots of food allergies and preferences so I’ve been doing some digging on finding recipes that check all of the boxes! Some of these I’ve made before and can attest to their goodness. Other are new and I will note which is which! Either way, all of them look mouthwatering GOOD!

Butternut Squash Salad {with Bacon and Maple-Rosemary Vinaigrette}
My mother-in-law and I made this salad together last week and OH MY GOSH it’s good. It was all I could do not to eat the entire bowl! Definitely add this to your list to make this holiday season!
* Omit the cheese, and keep it on the side to make this salad dairy free!

* I’m not positive the fried onions from Trader Joe’s called for in this recipe are gluten free, but here’s a gluten free fried onion recipe just in case!

The Best Dairy Free Mashed Potatoes
This recipe looks amazing! I really like a dairy free recipe that uses both almond and coconut milk. That typically keeps the dish from having too much of a coconut taste! This looks like a winner to me! Honestly, you had me at the vegan butter and chives…. YUM.

* We smoked our turkey in our Traeger Grill last year, and we’ll be doing that again this year!

Pull-apart Dinner Rolls
Confession, I’ve never attempted to make gf/df rolls before, but this might just be the year for me! This recipe (and extensive notes!) has me thinking I might be able to pull it off! Honestly, I’m hungry just looking at this photo… and is it really Thanksgiving without the rolls?!

LOVE this post! I’m especially excited to try the salad, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie! Have you ever tried Violife df cheeses? They make a df feta that I think would be an amazing substitute in the salad recipe.
