Let’s Do This!
We are kicking off our Guest Bathroom Renovation today and I couldn’t be ANY more excited. Back when we were re-doing our floors we had the tile removed from our guest bathroom as well, so truthfully we’ve just kept the doors shut to this bathroom for the past 5 months! We were trying to finish the rest of the house and honestly I couldn’t come up with a plan. So this bathroom has sat tile-less and toilet-less for months. Thankfully, we do have another bathroom in this house!
Here’s a peek at the before of this bathroom. It was functioning, but that was about it. I never even thought about it because there was so much I wanted to do, but the floors where such an issue. It’s been untouched since 2012 when I moved in, so as you can imagine, I’m THRILLED to finally get to tackle this project.
Before:

This project will be relatively simple compared to the kitchen, so it’s already been such a blast to work on. We are leaving the tub and shower tile as is, but everything else is changing. Since this isn’t a high traffic area in our home like our kitchen, this project already feels like an actual DREAM.
So I’m here to tell you that we officially HAVE A PLAN… I think!. Above is our current mood board, but I’m still deciding on lighting, paint for the paneling, and the wall paper. I might go warmer and less blue… but you get the idea! It’s just what has caught my eye so far. The one thing that I’m not still deciding is the floors (the daisy marble floor of my actual dreams) and the vanity. I’m in LOVE with both. Today we are actually finishing up the marble install so at least we will have FLOORS!! Gosh it feels good to say that.

There is still quite a lot to do but I’m really excited to kick off this project and I’d love to know your thoughts! Have you renovated a bathroom? Any do’s and don’ts we should keep in mind?!
P.S. This project is already making me want to rip apart our primary bathroom next! Don’t tell Ryan, ha! 😉
We are part of a group of DIY Bloggers/YouTubers that are all working on projects throughout the year, so you’ll have to pop over to the #THDDoerProject to see everyone’s progress! Also, if you are working on a DIY, use the hashtag #DoersChallenge so we can follow along!

How to Install a Farmhouse Sink
Hi! How did the flooring holdup in your bathroom? Designing our “guest” bathroom that will primarily be our two girl’s bathroom and thought this might be perfect!
We love it! Held up great!
Love this tile! What color grout did you go with? I’m thinking more of a gray color grout since this bathroom will be used a lot vs. white. But do love how clean the white looks!
Question – I was looking at the tile on homedepot.com and it does SAY its for flooring. Do you know if this will hold up on the floor? I LOVE IT. I am looking into using it in my entry way!
Hi Jamie! I’ve never used it before but we did use it for our bathroom floor and so far so good! 🙂
Another question – what color grout did you go with?
Hi Jamie! We did white!
I’m so glad you are posting this!!! Can you go into details on the wallpaper. We are wallpapering our guest bathroom and I have put off buying it for over 3 months because I’m not sure what the best type of wallpaper is and how to measure it considering waste.
Katelyn!! We haven’t decided on the wallpaper yet, but as soon as we do I’ll let you know!
Ooooo love this! We just bought a house and starting with the master room. But this gives me inspiration for the spa bathroom of my dreams!
yay!!!! I’m so glad!
