It’s Time to Pop the Champagne!

A few weeks ago, I was asked to team up with a few of my favorite bloggers to share our favorite holiday cocktail recipes for Southern Living, which, I mean… how do you say no to that?! Anyway, we had so much fun photographing and sharing our favorite “Festive Fizz” for the feature that I thought I’d officially share it with you too!

So here’s the deal, champagne is my favorite. I love the bubbles, the pop of the cork, and the festive-ness of the drink itself. Nothing is more celebratory than champagne, and that’s why I love it so much! Anytime I am asked to come up with a cocktail, you better believe I will try my very best to work champagne into the mix some way, some how!

What I love about this recipe in particular is how incredibly festive it really is. It uses all the holiday flavors: citrus, rosemary, and cranberry… it’s like Christmas in a cup!

Ingredients:

  • Fresh Cranberries
  • Orange Peels
  • Rosemary
  • Champagne
  • Orange Liqueur
  • Ginger Ale

Directions:

  1. Add 1/4 cup of muddled fresh cranberries, plus 1/4 cup of water together and bring to a boil on the stove.
  2. The cranberries mixture should end up looking like jam. Set aside to cool.
  3. Add to each champagne glass: 1 splash of orange liqueur, 1 splash of ginger-ale, and 1/2 tablespoon of the juice from your cranberry mixture. Stir and add champagne!
  4. To top it off, add an orange peel, frozen cranberries, and a sprig of rosemary.

And voila!
