My J.Crew Fall Edit

What fits my personal style right now…

I haven’t done a full on outfit post in a while, but this one was just too good not to. I know I’ve been saying this for the past few weeks, but J.Crew fall 2022 is on fire and it’s making me so happy. And it’s really feeling like everything fits in right with my personal style… which is so fun.

40% off your entire purchase!

Especially with the change of season, I love seeing so many crisp classics, exciting twists on staples (the lady jacket!), and pieces like this shirt, that I know I’ll have in my closet for years to come.

This blouse is so SO good! It’s drape-y and silky in all the best ways, without being stuffy. (The buttons! The minimal ruffle! The pretty blue stripe!) Truly, it’s my ideal top.

For a fit note: It does wrinkle, but not easily. I wore it all day on Sunday, and felt like it still looked fairly good when I changed into my pjs… which is not easy when you are carrying around a 16-pound butterball of a baby all day! Size wise, I ordered a small, so it’s a bit oversized, but not too oversized, if that makes sense. Undone, but still so very much put together… my favorite. (And J.Crew fall 2022 collection is full of more of the same!)

And don’t even get me started on the mini skirt! Nothing screams fall to me like a corduroy mini. The perfect fit and length, five stars all the way.

This is one of those outfits that feels like me, in the best way. It’s so interesting because I’ve really been trying to figure out my signature style, and clearly that means I’ve also been sucked into Allison Bornstein’s 3-Word Method and her “finding your personal style” series. (I’ve been trying nail down my three for weeks!)

If you haven’t heard of the 3-Word Method, I absolutely recommend her videos… she’s BRILLIANT and gives you a lot to think about when it comes to editing your own closet. I’ve been mulling over what I think my three words are that describe my personal style, and I’m still trying to totally nail it down. Right now I’m thinking: classic, flirty, and ____ I don’t know. Maybe I should do a larger post on this, but I’d love to know your thoughts! What would your three personal style words be?

P.S. See below for some of my favorite J.Crew fall 2022 pieces and right now everything is 40% off!

  1. I think your third word is maybe sophisticated? I want to say feminine but that feels close to flirty. I will now be going allll the way down this 3 word rabbit hole tonight

  2. Ooh I love this! I heard of the 3-word method on The Everyday Style School podcast (changed my style game!). My words are natural, feminine and chic (or refined). It’s a really great shopping filter!

  3. Love these pieces on you and please do a post on this 3 word method! I feel like my style is classic, but don’t know the other 2 words. Is there a concise way to say “stay at home mama who still wants to look pulled together and dressed every day”? Ha! I would love to know more.
