Juliet’s Newborn Photos

My favorite moments captured

There is nothing sweeter than newborn photos, and I couldn’t wait to capture them with our sweet little Juliet. Just two weeks after she was born, we got all dolled up and snapped a few special moments as a family of four. We actually did Lauren’s newborn photos at 14 days as well, so this felt extra sweet. I love seeing the similarities in their tiny little faces, as well as the features that make them unique.

What makes these images even more special is that my dad took them. I’m so grateful for his talent (see some of our favorite moments: Juliet’s maternity and pregnancy announcement, and Laurens’ maternity… I could go on!). I will never be able to accurately convey what these photos mean to me. I still can’t believe this is our life; it continues to take my breath away. We have TWO little people to love.

The magic behind these photos is that Juliet’s room (everything linked here… I’ll do a nursery reveal soon, promise!) is practically the only room in our new home that is somewhat finished or… put together. Most rooms are still covered in boxes, blue tape, and floor protection. Her room has been our sanctuary these past six weeks. I’m so grateful this space came together; it just feels so very us, and mostly her.

These images capture so much about our current season. Laurens is fully into music, so I LOVE that he (of course!) has his guitar in these shots, he’s never without it. Also, that he’s wearing a jumper that he informed me he “did not like,” ha! I think his exact words were: “I need shorts”… my one-piece days are over, I think! But also, these images feel so serene. Despite the chaos of construction, this right here—the four of us—has never felt more peaceful or right. I don’t even remember what life was like before Laurens and Juliet; it’s as if they’ve always been a part of us.

And Juliet, she is the sweetest, happiest, most content baby! She’s so peaceful and smiley, and everything feels better with her here. I love how these photos perfectly capture that.

We didn’t know how full our hearts would feel until she was in them. We love our little Juliet.
