August’s Dinner Party Menu

Inspired by a low country boil…

To be clear, I had ulterior motives for this post. We’ve been talking about hosting a low country boil all summer long, so I’m hoping this will push us over the edge and MAKE us really do it. Nothing screams summer more to me like a low country boil, and before we get all pumpkin spicy over here, we’ve got to make it happen!

Low country boils are so darn easy and FUN. It’s kind of like dinner and entertainment all at the same time. Just toss down some newspaper in the backyard and you’ve got an Instagram-worthy picnic in seconds! Plus the sides can be super fun, like (air!) fried okra and (cold!) green bean salad. Casual, fun, and memorable… the perfect dinner party if you ask me!

P.S. As always, everything will have a gluten- and dairy-free option if it isn’t already GF/DF friendly, so you can proceed with confidence.

I live for picked onions … it’s the best way to eat an onion, in my opinion! So this recipe got me with the pickled onions, but I stayed for the cold green beans! YUM.
