Good morning and happy Friday to you!! One of my goals for 2015 is to read at least one book a month. I am an avid audiobook listener, and can run through books so quickly that way, especially since I am always on the go! But this year, I want to make an effort to read more! So, help me out! I am jumping on a plane tomorrow to head back home from our family vacation in Aspen (I am so sad, I can’t even talk about it!), and I need a new book. Being the over-acheiver (ahem, let’s be real, I’ve had the flu and been on vacation for most of January–I have had a LOT of “reading time”) that I am I have already finished a few books this month… I need more! HELP! You guy are all fancy readers; tell me what the hot new book is!
P.S. Happy Weekend!!
This is a little late but I couldn’t resist sharing! You must read Girl on The Train, but be prepared to stay up all night reading. And also by Liane Moriarty, The Husband’s Secret. Both amazing!!
I just read The Boston Girl and really enjoyed it. Takes 3-6 hours to read at around 300 pages (I know this because I read it all on a longggggg train ride the other day), but it’s heartwarming and not in the sad way. I also love reading classics while traveling–just read Wuthering Heights and really was drawn to the plot and characters.
Chloe | Wanderlust in the Midwest
Loved Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty and I also read What Alice Forgot by her and really liked it. I really loved Save the Date by Mary Kay Andrews for a fun love story. You really can’t go wrong with anything by her in my opinion! Love anything by Wendy Wax though my favorite was While We Were Watching Downton Abbey. Party Girl by Rachel Hollis was a surprisingly fun read. And #GirlBoss and Lara Casey’s new book are my top two non fiction recs. Happy reading friend!
The Magic of Tidying Up is wonderful if you’re not a Type-A person.
I just started reading Wild by Cheryl Strayed and I absolutely love it! I want to finish it before I see the movie with Reese Witherspoon 🙂
Happy New Year!
One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp
I’m currently reading All the Light We Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr. I just finished Love, Life, and Elephants: An African Lovestory by Dame Daphne Sheldrick, which was an awesome memoir about her life living with animals. Also recently read The Valley of Amazement by Amy Tan, which was good as well. Next is Big Little Lies by Lianne Moriarty. Oh and I’m sure you’ve prob already read it, but Wild by Cheryl Strayed has become one of my favorite books ever and I highly recommend it!!!
Anything by Karen Kingsbury are always on my recommendation list. I also like the author Susan May Warren.
Love your site and blog!!
You must read The Elegance of the Hedgehog-simply beautiful writing. The Mercy of Thin Air is a Southern treasure; Eleven Days: A Novel, tells a powerful story of a Navy SEAL’s mother. Those are three you will never forget-or regret!
#GIRLBOSS was awesome! I finished it in a day because I couldn’t put it down. If you haven’t read it yet, do it! You won’t regret it 🙂
Any book by Shauna Niequist!! Beautiful writing in all of them & in Bread&Wine it is combined with delicious recipes!!
Kate Morton- The Secret Keeper!!! It’s amazing
#girlboss is definitely on my list!
I just finished The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty and LOVED it! I also read Big Little Lies by her and am now reading What Alice Forgot. Any of her books are great! Wild is also on my list. Happy reading!

– Station Eleven (Emily St. John Mandel)
Ooo, what are you in the mood for? What did you read? Here are a couple suggestions:
-For something fun and lighthearted, The Rosie Project had me laughing out loud. If you’ve already read that, the sequel just came out last week.
-For a good historical read, I enjoyed The Miniaturist set in Amsterdam in the 17th century and had a great sense of place
-For literature, I really liked Station Eleven–beautifully written, with compelling characters and an interesting, almost quiet take on post-civilization
-For non fiction, Boys in the Boat was so compelling! About a crew team that rowed in the Munich Olympics right before WWII broke out
