Monday Morning Musings | No. 224
It was a quiet, beautiful fall weekend…
We had a fairly low-key weekend at home running errands and doing house chores, which is always so nice after a busy week! And without a lot of actual plans scheduled, we were able to accomplish quite a bit… I often need to remind myself that margin is good, I like to fill all the hours in all the days with productivity and activity, but sometimes when you just let the weekend happen, it ends up being exactly what you wanted in the first place!
Saturday was our neighborhood’s front porch sale (i.e. garage sale) day, and the streets were buzzing! And even though it wasn’t cool outside, the absence of the humidity made it feel like fall! We spent the rest of the day visiting with extended family, doing the weekly Micheal’s (for me!) and Home Depot (for Ryan!) run. We added more pumpkins (like these and these!) and mums to the front porch and I was even able to finish Laurens’ Halloween costume, which I honestly can’t believe I pulled it off. We ended the evening with a cozy dinner at home.
On Sunday, we met my family at Kraft Azalea park for an afternoon in the sunshine. We went on a long walk in the nearby neighborhood and generally just enjoyed both being together and being outside. We then headed to Foxtail’s Swine & Sons for club sandwiches! This was my first time at that location for lunch and it will not be my last. I’m a sucker for a good club sandwich and it did not disappoint.
Then we decided to pack up and head back to my parent’s house for a spontaneous Sunday night slumber party, because we weren’t quite ready to call the weekend. It was a lazy, productive, normal, and sweet few days!
Okay, now that I’ve totally caught you up on our weekend, let’s get into the five things I’m loving right now…
5 Things I’m Loving
A few new obsessions…
It’s a bit cooler here in the mornings, which has been such a nice change! But not quite cool enough for this sweater that I’ve been DYING to put Laurens in… I’m constantly checking the weather app! I received this as a gift from a family friend and gosh, what a great idea! The sweetest.
