Monday Morning Musings | No. 228

The sweetest celebrations…

Happy Monday! I hope you had a lovely weekend… we had such a fun one! On Friday night I went out with my girlfriends to dinner and a movie. We had sushi and saw Ticket to Paradise… we took up the entire back row and then some! The movie was super cute, and Julia Roberts was charming as ever, but the company was even more fun.

On Saturday we spend the day at home watching football and prepping for Sunday brunch! In the afternoon, Ryan hung Laurens’ swing and goodness, he loves it. We spent a good portion of the day just watching him giggle as it went back and forth! Honestly, It was a simple day at home cleaning, grocery shopping, and cooking, with the buzz of football playing in the background. We ended the night with homemade pizza (this crust is our favorite!).

And on Sunday, Laurens’ was baptized! Holding our miracle baby while celebrating the gift of grace with both our family and our church family was just so incredibly special. Laurens also turned 6 months old on Sunday, which made an already sweet day even sweeter. After church we celebrated at home with brunch and a cute little homemade cake (this is the recipe I used and it turned out so yummy!). Later that evening, after everyone left, we went on a long walk and took in the early sunset while reveling in all of God’s grace on our lives—so very many answered prayers.

Also, I need to do a fun post on this, but I ended up wearing the dress I found for $15 at a vintage shop on Sunday! I took it to my tailor and had sleeves moved up, the length shortened, and the whole thing taken in. I love a good craft project and this one turned out great. I’m now on the hunt for another fun find (like this one!) and this morning I went down the 1960’s double knit dresses rabbit hole on Etsy and found so many good ones! I rounded up a bunch here, but this one is calling my name. With tights and boots this would be out-of-control cute, right?!

Okay, now that I’ve totally caught you up on our weekend, let’s get into the five things I’m loving right now…

5 Things I’m Loving

A few new obsessions…

1.

Bear Shearling Onsie ($25)

We’ve rescheduled our NYC trip (it got a little sidetracked by the hurricane!) for December, which is going to be even better. Laurens is going to love the city at Christmas! But now I’ve got to get on ordering all the cozy baby things! This is currently in my cart, but H&M has so many great things.

Here’s a little round-up of boy clothes I’ve been loving lately!

Sephora Sale Favorites

Last week I did a first impressions product test on Instagram stories (see the whole thing here!) and this is one of my top products. I REALLY love it. If you are looking for new concealer, this is it.

All the products I tried are linked here!

3.

Keepsake Box (25% off today!)

I’m loving Rifle’s new holiday line, from bags to ribbons, and they thought of everything! But one of my favorites is this keepsake box. Love this for your desk to put stationery or special cards in. I always keep cards that are sentimental tucked away and this is the perfect spot… plus it’s just plain pretty!

Colorful Scarf (under $50)

Tuckernuck just launched their gift guides and I’m WAY impressed. So many great things (including this scarf) that I might just have to scoop up for NYC. I feel like it will look so cute next to Laurens’ sweet little truck sweater… I love a coordinating moment!
