Monday Morning Musings | No. 232

Hello, holidays!

Good morning, friends! I’m back after a little accidental hiatus last week! We got home from New York late Monday (post coming this week!) and honestly, I had so much work/home/personal things to catch up on that I was in one of those busy time-warps where you have no idea what day it is or time. I blinked and it was Friday!

Plus, I’m totally slowing down and soaking up every single second of Laurens’ first Christmas, we’ve been doing all the things but also spending slow morning drinking hot coffee by the Christmas tree while reading our favorite books in our pjs. I just don’t want this season of such an answered prayer to go by without really sitting in each little memory, and that is exactly what we are doing. It’s magic. Four years ago this Christmas we found out Ryan’s cancer treatment was successful and this year our long awaited dream of becoming parents became a reality… life is all worth celebrating!

This weekend we did just that! On Saturday morning we drove over to The Oxford Exchange for tea with Mr. & Mrs. Claus, and let me tell you… it was a H-I-T! Our typically cool-as-a-cucumber baby was alllll smiles for the Mr. & Mrs. and we had THE BEST afternoon singing songs, listening to Christmas stories, and getting *the photo* (which he refused to smile for, see here!). Ryan and I got married at The Oxford Exchange over eight years ago (here’s a podcast on our whole story) so any time we visit, it’s just the absolute sweetest. And bringing our baby back to the place where we said, “I do” makes my heart want to explode, it’s all too much.

And once we finally got home from our Santa adventure I hopped back in the car and headed out to our church’s annual ladies Christmas cookie exchange night, which is always such a treat, no pun intended! We caught up, swapped cookies, sang carols, and read the Christmas story. It’s a highlight of the season for me. Plus, I ended up making a new cut-out sugar cookie recipe (but I made a few tweaks!) and they turned out so great! Keep an eye out for that recipe this week, I’ll be sharing soon.

Anywayyyyssss, that was longer than expected! Now that I’ve totally caught you up on our weekend, let’s get into the five things I’m loving right now…

5 Things I’m Loving

A few new obsessions…

1.

$35 Bow Sweater

How cute is this cropped rhinestone bow sweater?! Such a fun way to feel festive, but also cozy. I’d pair it with this skirt and this bag (or this one, so pretty!).

The Perfect Coat

I always get so many questions about my cream colored coat and to be honest with you, it has been the best coat I’ve ever owned! I got it from Mango years ago. But I stand by the fact that Mango has some of the best coats at the best prices. I currently have my eye on this one. Stunning.

The Prettiest Palette

This palette is currently sitting pretty in my Sephora cart, and I just love it. I’ve been looking for an updated eye shadow palette, and I think this may be the one. I have loved EVERY SINGLE THING I have purchased from Makeup by Mario and currently use this bronzer, this lip liner (in color “johnny”), and this lipstick (color “rasa”) almost every single day.

Sweet Baby Sweats

I just love H&M baby! So many adorable finds (here are a bunch of my current favorites!) but this little $35 sweatsuit has a hold on me. HOW SWEET IS THAT HOOD?! You know I’m a fan of a little gnome hat, proof here and here!

Personalized Sparkle

I actually have this necklace in the beaded version and wear it all the time, but I’m loving this fun sparkle version! Would make such a great stocking stuffer (and under $34!). Seriously, I may just order myself one, love it so much!
