Monday Morning Musings | No. 249

48 hours of just us…

On Thursday late afternoon Ryan and I snuck out for a quick 48 hours away, just the two of us! We stayed at the JW Marriott here in town and it really was heaven. It took us 20 minutes to get there door to door! So by Thursday at 5:00 pm we were already one cocktail in!

This was our first time staying at the JW, and we will 10000% be back. We’ve stayed at the neighboring property quite a few times, but honestly, we had such a great time.

We read our books by the pool, ordered too many piña coladas, fell asleep in a hammock, road the water slide like kids, ate at amazing restaurants both nights (Primo and Highball & Harvest), and stayed up too late watching movies and eating popcorn in bed! It was the best mini getaway. Simple and very sweet.

On our way home we were already throwing dates around to see when we could do it all over again. Too much fun!

Matching Set

I saw this matching set at Boden and thought it was too cute to pass up! I brought it with me on our weekend getaway and felt FABULOUS by the pool.

Tennis Bracelet

Tennis bracelets are always in style (I mean, honestly, it’s diamonds we are talking about here!), but they are making a major fashion comeback and I’m here for it! I’ve been hearing AMAZING things about Dorsey’s lab-grown white sapphire pieces so I ordered this bracelet and I can’t wait for it to come in. Love that it’s a quality piece for a fraction of the price! I’m a jewelry girl and all about the sparkle… so full review coming soon.

Neutral Slides

I’ve been on the hunt for a good neutral sandal (my favorites are falling apart!), and I came across these so I went ahead and ordered. I tried on the original Hermès version a few weeks ago and I wasn’t sold on the colors available, so I’m thinking these look-a-likes may do the trick!

(Also, I am REALLY into these sandals… love!)

1st Birthday Outfit!

I can’t believe I’m already thinking about Laurens’ 1st birthday! This year has flown by, but I’ve truly soaked up every second of it and I feel so excited for him! Each day he discovers something new and, ugh, it’s the best… and I know it will just keep getting better. Anyway, I’ve been excited to plan a little something for the day and I found this gingham romper that matches the birthday crown I ordered! Eek!

Butterfly Kit!

On Sunday we went to birthday party for two little friends in our neighborhood and I had so much fun picking out their gifts together! They are two and four, and I thought a bug/butterfly gift would be so fun. I ordered this kit, this book and this one, and these magnifying glasses. Honestly, It turned out so cute!
