Monday Morning Musings | No. 323
A weekend at home…
Good morning and happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours started off on such a fun note—my best friend’s kids were starring in Annie, and we couldn’t miss it! Laurens, who is seriously obsessed with music, and Juliet came along. We weren’t sure how long he’d last since it started after his bedtime, but to our surprise, he was glued to the stage for the entire 90-minute show. It was so special watching him take it all in. It even got me dreaming about future shows and concerts we can enjoy together. (Side note: he’s currently very into Jack Johnson. If he were touring, we’d be first in line for tickets!)
Saturday was a classic family day—errands, park time, and scooter races for the kids while we wrapped up the evening with red wine outside with our neighbors.
On Sunday, we kept things low key. We skipped church since it seems like everyone’s feeling a bit under the weather and, honestly, I needed a reset. We treated ourselves to a cozy breakfast out, and the day hit its peak when everyone took two-hour naps—total magic! Later, we made a delicious soup (little too spicy for the littles, but live and learn!) and ended the day snuggled up under our favorite quilts watching Mickey Saves Christmas. I’m pretty sure it’ll still be on repeat come April, and I’m not mad about it. Growing up, there was nothing better than weekend movie nights, and it’s so much fun now as a mom.
I capped off the weekend with a long bath epson salt bath (I’m addicted!), my favorite bath pebbles, and a new audiobook! Nothing too wild, but honestly, it was just lovely. Here’s to a fresh new week!
