Wednesday Morning Musings | No. 365

Hello, hello!

We had a treat of a weekend over here! The kids had a slumber party at Lollipop’s house. Lolli is my mom and Popster is my dad, aka Lollipops, and truly… it was so special for everyone.

We missed them of course, but oh my gosh we got SO much done. I honestly can’t remember the last time I was alone in my own home!

Spent a slow morning drinking coffee by the fire outside, cleaned out the playroom, baked muffins for the kids, prepped Valentines (see here and here), made a steak dinner with a really good bottle of wine, and somehow did an impressive amount of laundry along the way. Ryan was outside knocking out a million and one yard projects, per usual.

It was just a little over 24 hours, but we absolutely made the most of it. I’m so grateful for a quick reset like that. It felt really, really good!!

Sunday night we rounded things out with Super Bowl Sunday at our neighbors’ house, a tradition we’ve had for the past three years and one of my favorites. All the kids together, lots of noise and laughs, and Juliet wearing Laurens’ old football sweater. Truly the very best.

Feeling unbelievably grateful heading into this week with a little less clutter, Valentine ready, and my kids back in their own beds where they belong. And lots to look forward to! Ryan and I have a fun date night planned, I’m going to wear this new jacket (this is what I wore last week!), we’ve got a special Valentine playdate, and a breakfast reservation with the kids on Saturday.

Also, a little Valentine sneak peek… I ordered Juliet a bubble blower and Laurens a real, smaller sized leaf blower (that Ryan also needed, ha!) for Christmas, but they didn’t arrive on time so I saved them for Valentine’s Day. I’m wrapping them up with a card that says “you blow me away” and honestly… this is clearly more for me than for them, but I’m already getting such a kick out of it and cannot wait to see them in the backyard this weekend with their new “tools”!

Okay, I’m done rambling, let’s get into my five things…

3.

Zara Kids Haul

I had to do a big clothing order for the kids recently. I swear I woke up one morning and suddenly no one’s shoes fit, pants fit, and every shirt was basically a crop top… like it all happened overnight. Anyway, these striped sweats have quickly become a favorite from my recent Zara order.

Playroom Update

We have some new playroom pieces coming this week and I am just thrilled about it. Slowly but surely we’re putting this home together, and I have a feeling this little folding chair is going to be a HIT.
