Countdown to Summer!

Hi! Hello!!

I just looked at the calendar and saw that we have 4 days of school left! HOW did that happen?! Like I said in Friday’s Substack (subscribe here, it’s free and fun!), we’ve been on a serious fun-bender and this weekend was no different. I’m so excited to kick off summer with the kids, but I really do need to sit down and get our summer schedule ironed out. I know it will be a little chaotic, but honestly? It’s going to be great. Laurens and I were chatting this morning about putting together our Summer Bucket List, so I’ll keep you posted! BTW, I loved this podcast from The Lazy Genius, 5 Things To Do Before Summer Begins… super helpful.

Anyway, this weekend was such a treat. We kicked it off with a night out at the ballet as they closed their season with one of my favorite events of the year, Uncorked. I think they do four a year, and if you ever get the chance, GO. Personally, I think it’s even more fun than the actual ballet. My mom and I had gone a year ago, and I just knew both my dad and Ryan would love it, and they really did. It’s truly incredible: they live-choreograph a 3-minute piece right in front of you and perform it within an hour. SPECTACULAR. I can’t say enough great things! Also, I wore this top and got one million complements!

On Saturday, we had plans to shoot a big project, but the items got delayed in transit, so we ended up having an impromptu day at home, which was SO needed. We made a big breakfast, I got a ton of laundry done, Juliet officially learned how to ride her scooter (!!!), and the kids played in the backyard until bath time. It was such a good day!

Then on Mother’s Day, we got all dressed up (this is what we wore) and hopped in the car to visit with my grandmothers! What a treat to celebrate them on such a special day. My mom made brunch, and we spent the day chatting and laughing at the kids being kids. We went to bed last night with very full and happy hearts.

A handful of things you need to know →

Have you made my super simple paleo cookie bars yet?! They’re a summer staple in our home. Especially paired with these!

Speaking of summer, I ordered these balloons for pickup on the last day of school! So fun and silly.

We had the best week celebrating Laurens’ fourth birthday, here’s what we did and everything we wore!

Have you seen this yellow dress?! The cut is perfection, and I love the price point!

Every year, we snap a few photos during Mother’s Day week in front of our neighbor’s jasmine wall. It’s the most special tradition, see them all here!

Okay, let’s dive in to my five favorites of the week….

5 Things I’m Loving

Add to cart!

1.

The Dreamiest Pistachio Top ($49)

This pistachio green Zara top stopped me in my tracks. It also has a matching skort with little ties that is SO chic together, but I also think the top would be adorable with white denim or even these satin pants (on sale right now) for dinner this summer. Such an elevated little piece.

The Only Little Boy Shorts I Want to Buy

If you are looking for little boy shorts, just buy these, they are the BEST. Laurens practically lives in them (see here and here). They’re lightweight and comfy like athletic shorts, but look so much more pulled together. The perfect little length too. Truly 10/10.

3.

The Happiest Little Cocktail Table

We just got this little cocktail table from Kathy Kuo Home for our sunroom/playroom situation, and I love it so much. It adds the happiest little pop of color and feels way more expensive than it is. Honestly would be cute practically anywhere.

4.

My Favorite Iced Coffee Glasses

I’ve had these little daisy glasses from World Market for years and every summer I become re-obsessed with them. I think they’re around $12 and they sell out constantly. They just make iced coffee feel extra happy and charming. Such a fun little summer pick-me-up.

5.

The Cutest Little Summer Polo

Okay, I am obsessed with everything happening at J.Crew right now, but this little cropped boxy polo with the eyelet detail?! SO cute. Definitely ordering. I already know I’ll be wearing it with my favorite denim shorts, but also with little tennis skirts all summer long. It just feels very cool girl at the park in the best way.
