Just the four of us…
We had ourselves such a sweet little weekend of four! On Sunday night at the park, we realized we had spent the entire weekend just the four of us, and it was so wonderful. It felt really special.
Friday night we did pizza and board games. Juliet LOVES Don’t Break the Ice, ha! And Laurens cannot get over how funny Mouse Trap is. I wouldn’t say we necessarily play Mouse Trap, but we definitely have fun with it.

Saturday morning we packed up the car early and headed to Disney Springs in search of the LEGO Store. We play LEGOs almost every morning and evening in Laurens’ room, and it’s become one of our favorite ways to reconnect as a family. Sweet Juliet didn’t have a set of her own yet, so we told her that as soon as we finished potty training, everyone was getting new LEGOs! It ended up being such a fun little celebration, and she picked out the cutest Cinderella set. Of course, we don’t leave her alone with it because the pieces are small, but she is really, really good with them.
We had lunch and then came home and spent the rest of the rainy afternoon setting everything up and playing LEGOs together.
Then Sunday morning was our twelfth wedding anniversary! Everyone was up SO early, and Ryan said, “Hey, let’s just get in the car and head to Oxford Exchange with the kids to celebrate our anniversary.” Honestly, it sounded like the best idea and the sweetest way to spend the morning (a few pics of us here!).
We got married at the Oxford Exchange 12 years ago, and while we’d taken Laurens before, we’d never taken Juliet. It was such a sweet full-circle moment getting to bring both of our babies back to where it all started. We had coffee and muffins, shopped around, and then headed to their sister restaurant, Mad Dogs & Englishmen, for champagne and French toast before heading home.
We spent the rest of the day watching tennis, playing LEGOs, folding laundry, and riding bikes at the park. And that’s when we realized we had spent the whole weekend, start to finish, just the four of us.
Dare I say it was a perfect little family weekend?! Yes!
A few things you need to know →
🎃 – It doesn’t exactly feel like it here in Florida (we’re still doing this!), but September means fall to me. I love this time of the year, and these just came in for the kids to get us ready. I just need it to drop a few degrees outside so I can wear these and this! And in case you missed it, here’s a big chatty round-up of all the fall things I’m looking forward to this season.
☕ – This is all we are drinking these days!
🏈 – Fall also means football season! We usually host a few game day Saturdays, which is always fun. We make it a potluck situation so I pull this out, make these, and then the kids all run around outside with this. Easy and fun!
🛍️ – Like I said, I’m trying really hard to not go full fall wardrobe just yet (but I’m loving florals for fall!), but this, this, and this are making it really hard!
🔨 – We’ve finally started making progress on our sad guest bathroom… and I’m really excited to see what we can do! The vanity is ordered, and my crew is the best there out there.
