Soaking Up Summer!
We had such a fun-filled weekend with friends and I never wanted it to end. Our constant struggle is finding the balance between family and friends. Our families are gigantic (Ryan is one of 8 siblings!) and our several friend groups mean so much to us. But last week we felt like we nailed it and there’s no better feeling!
During the week we had my family over for dinner for make-your-own-pizza night, then got the opportunity to spend quality time with a few of Ryan’s siblings who were in town over a long brunch! When the weekend rolled around we packed in the friend time…
On Friday we had dinner at our good friends Lesley and Scott’s home. Lesley is an AMAZING cook and we always rant and rave about her food! So to say Friday was a treat would be an understatement. Not only was the food fantastic, but the company was even better! Then on Saturday morning we did brunch with Oscar and Leah down at Canvas, and it was just so lovely. Every time we get together with them we spend the whole time dreaming-up potential vacations (London, next?!)… which is really my ideal activity.
And if that wasn’t enough, my best friend from Texas flew in and I met her down at the Ritz Carlton for dinner and drinks. We laughed until our stomachs hurt!
So I think it’s safe to say that we’re rolling into Monday with very full love tanks. 😉
5 Things I'm Loving
I’m stuck on the academic planner cycle… this may be the year I switch to the grown-up yearly planner that starts in January, but for now, I love starting a new planner in August. Plus, January is usually so overwhelming with all the “new-year-new-you” hoopla, that I really enjoy a fresh slate in August! My good friend Emily Ley is running her planner sale and I cannot speak more highly of them. If you are looking for a new planner… run over there and scoop one up! I use the “daily” version and L-O-V-E it!
Ryan got yet another new coffee maker, and I think this might just be the one. We are coffee people through and through, embarrassingly so. And the quest for the perfect cup of coffee is a never ending feat! Ryan has had his eye on this coffee maker for 3 years now and he finally pulled the trigger on Monday. Honestly, I thought it was kind of silly because, goodness Lord how many coffee makers do we need?! But truthfully, I’m already sold. It makes one heck of a good cup of coffee… I’m so glad it finally bought it!
Okay, ladies. I just heard about this new brand Abbey Glass and I want you to run over there and take a peek. Abbey reached out to me a few weeks ago about her line and she sent me a few things to try. I’m not lying when I say that every single piece fit perfectly, almost freakishly so! I e-mailed her immediately and was like – what are you, magic?! This top (on sale!!) and this dress (on sale – both in a size S) are my favorites of her line.
For you Atlanta folks, she’s having a warehouse sale this weekend August 8-10th at her Atlanta retail shop at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta where so many styles will be up to 60% off!
This is not sponsored, but if I were in ATL this weekend, I’d be first in line! The sale will then open online on the 13th, but honestly, there are already so many beautiful pieces on sale worth checking out!
My girlfriend Kristin posted about this collapsable tote from Target over on her IG stories last week and I was riveted. She even did a little demo on the tote bag which is what sold me (there’s a video on target.com too)! But guys, how is this thing so cool?! It’s perfect for toting just about everything, I actually am going to order a couple for my car! Also, she mentioned what a great teacher gift it would be, and I totally agree!
