My Brightening Skincare Routine
Let’s talk skincare — it’s been a minute.
During pregnancy, my skin is at its very best. Honestly, the hair, the glow, the skin… it’s all working in my favor. And even in those first few postpartum months, I usually get to ride that wave a little longer. But once the glow fades? It’s time to reassess.

I wish I could just splash some water on my face, add a little moisturizer, and call it a day forever — but alas, no. Once that magical window closes, it’s back to reality… and back to a real skincare routine.
Over the past few months, my skin has not exactly been on my side. So I made a dermatologist appointment, asked a million questions, tossed what wasn’t working, and built a new routine from the ground up. And honestly? I’m loving it.
Let’s get into it!

Step 1: Toning Pads
If I had to pick one product that’s made the biggest difference in my skin, it’s this. I even keep a backstock now — they’re that good. These pads smooth, brighten, unclog pores, and gently exfoliate. Total game-changer.

Step 2: Vitamin C
I’ve avoided Vitamin C for years because it always broke me out — but this one is different. My skin loves it. It brightens, evens skin tone, boosts hydration, and adds a layer of protection. Total win.

Step 3: Serum
This one came highly recommended by my dermatologist, and I really love it. It helps improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, restores volume to thinning skin, and boosts elasticity.

Step 4: Eye Cream
I love this eye cream, it’s brightening and de-puffing… what more could you ask for!?

Step 5: Moisturizer
This one’s a bit thicker than what I used to go for — but I love it. My skin has changed since having kids, and I definitely need the extra boost these days!

Step 6: SPF*
I’ve been using this one for years and still love it. It’s easy, effective, and never lets me down. *morning only

Step 4.5: Retinol *
I recently got back on the retinol train — and honestly, there’s nothing quite like it. It smooths texture, evens skin tone, and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
* I only use it at night, after eye cream!

I find skincare to be confusing, overwhelming, and, let’s be honest, expensive. I always get nervous ordering a $$$ cream without really knowing what I’m doing. So hopefully this post helps you feel a little more confident on your skincare journey too!

Hello! All the products you are using are recommended by your dermatologist? Thank you
The Alastin products and the SPF I picked up at my dermatologist office. I ran the other products by her and she said those were great!
