My Favorite Pregnancy Workouts
From programs to free online yoga classes!
As soon as I found out I was pregnant I was a bit nervous and confused on what I could and could not do. It was more of an anxiety driven thing than anything else. So after getting over that fear I landed on a few workouts that have become a routine I’ve really begun to enjoy.
None of these workouts are all that earth shattering, but if you are anything like me, you too most likely get bored with doing the same thing over and over again. So here’s a tiny bit of inspiration for those of you who are in the same boat…
The Sculpt Society Mama Program:
I’ve absolutely *loved* these workouts over the past few months. I’ve been a fan of Megan’s workouts for quite a while, so when I saw that she also had a pre & postnatal program I was thrilled. I re-signed up for her subscription on week 6 of my pregnancy and haven’t looked back! She has so many fantastic workouts for each trimester. They are high in energy, super fun, low impact sculpting workouts. I seriously can’t say enough good things about this program!
Alo Prenatal Yoga
I found this prenatal yoga video after a particularly uncomfortable day of pregnancy where everything kind of just hurt. I figured yoga might just be the answer. Thank goodness I was right. I’m so grateful I stumbled upon this video! I’ve taken this exact *class* so many times, which sounds boring, but for some reason it’s not. I love Andrea’s energy and overall vibe. It’s been by far my favorite online yoga class I’ve found!
Lots of Walking & Elliptical Machine
Living in Florida definitely has its benefits this time of year and the fact that we can be outside practically all day is definitely a perk! So I’ve been getting my steps in as much as possible with an added bonus of vitamin D. Plus Dolly *lives* for our walks and I know my body does too.
Also, during my first trimester my daily walks saved me… I called them “nausea walks”, ha! It was the last thing I wanted to do, but gosh did it help. You can catch up on my first trimester here. 😉
But lately I’ve been adding in the elliptical machine too and it has been GREAT! I used to love just getting on the elliptical machine and zoning out to an audio book or podcast, so I’ve added it back into my routine! A few times a week now I’ll walk to our gym, which is just a 1/2 mile a way, hop onto the elliptical to get my heart rate up for a solid 20 minutes or so, then walk back home. I’ve been really looking forward to my elliptical days.
Like I said, none of this is totally ground breaking! But I hope this helps you if you too are craving some movement!
