My Maternity Leave, The Plan (ish!)

Let’s just see how this goes…

With baby just days away (!) I thought it would be fun to share with you what I have up my sleeve for my maternity leave. Honestly, when I first started thinking about this it all just felt, daunting!

So over the past few months I’ve gotten a little creative to prepare. And the truth is, as much as I prepare for this next season, I have NO IDEA what it will look like. Honestly, I’m just truly looking forward to being surprised by what life has in store.

I’ve never been a mom before, and I won’t pretend that I have even an ounce of an idea of what I will feel like once he’s here. So I’ve decided to roll with the no-plan-plan, which honestly I prefer, while giving myself a whole lot of grace.

But what I can tell you is that I won’t disappear and the blog will still be full of fun new content! I have a few posts planned that I’m so excited about AND a handful of my girlfriends, many I’m sure you already know and *love*, will be sharing some of their favorite things in guest posts as well. I’m honored to be able to host these women and I’m already looking forward to their content!

Plus, we have the monthly book club, dinner party menu, and market flower how-to to look forward to… which are always some of my favorite posts!

AND!!! I designed a capsule collection with one of my favorite brands that will be launching the first week of June (June 7th to be exact! Mark your calendars!), which I am BEYOND thrilled about. I know you are just going to L-O-V-E it. Truly, I cannot wait. See a sneak peek here!

So, once the baby has arrived and we are settled back at home, my hope is to have a few new posts go live on the blog. And, of course, I’m sure I’ll be sharing sweet moments on social as well. So truly not a TON will change, just a little less rigorous as I get my footing and learn how to be a mom!

I plan on getting back fully into the swing of things mid-summer-ish… but I really don’t want to rush away a season that we have longed for years for by putting unmanageable expectations and pressure on myself! So I’m going to roll with it and my guess is that it will actually lead to me feeling re-inspired.

Anyway, all of that to say, I’m not going anywhere! And that you can expect the blog to stay fresh, the shop to stay updated, the collaborations to be AMAZING, the guest bloggers to be spectacular, and this next season of ashleybrooke.com to just be really fun.

So thank you for following along, it means THE world. I can’t wait to do this next season with you!
