Good Morning and Happy Monday to you!

Here is just a peek at what I was up to this weekend”¦

Photo 1: Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies

On Saturday morning, I woke up craving a day in the kitchen. Do you ever have those days where all you want to do is bake?!  Well, I do, and luckily for me I realized that we had a party to attend on Saturday night that I could bring cookies to, which was the perfect excuse to pull out the butta! After getting halfway through the recipe, I realized that I didn’t have enough chocolate chips (ahhhh), and instead of getting in the car and heading to Publix (because I wasn’t going anywhere that PJs weren’t appropiate), I decided to just dig in the pantry until I found something–ANYTHING–I could use as a substitution. I was getting pretty desperate, even thinking about breaking into a few Halloween leftovers (I know… why do we still have mini Snicker bars from a year ago?). Thankfully before it got that far, I found the jar of Nutalla and decided to use the Golden Rule: “Everything is better with Nutella.” I’m not going to lie, they turned out pretty darn excellent, if I say so myself. Moral of the story? When in doubt, add Nutella.

Photo 2: Surprise Presents are THE BEST

On Sunday afternoon, my sister surprised me with this little bundle of joy as a thank you gift, and it pretty much made my day. To be clear, she knows all of my favorite things, and is able to hit me right where it hurts. Popcorn? Check! Sharpies? Check! Pretzel M&M’s? OMG-check! Homemade Rice Crispy Treats? Check! Target Gift Card? Come to momma, Check! Friends, take note: this one is in fact a gifting genius! Also, where in the WORLD does she find ribbon like that and why I am not nearly as cool?

Photo 3: Dainty Nail Art

Over the weekend, I got my nails did. and I talked myself into jazzing them up a bit! I am on the plain jane train when it comes to my nails; I want them all the same color and in a matte finish, no shimmer, no special effects, no glitter, no fun, essentially. Every time I go to the salon, the girls get on to me about getting out of my “nail box” and every time I say (all grandma-like), “I’ll just keep’em old fashion…. hold the sparkle!” But when I went in this past weekend, I was so excited because I had told myself in the car, “Ashley, let’s get crazy! It’s only going to last like 2 weeks, it’s not a tattoo… have a little fun!” When I walked in this time I pretty much shouted, “I want glitter!!!” My girls freaked out and were getting so excited about brainstorming glitter motifs when I said, “I want two tiny little stripes on my ring finger.” I’m pretty sure you could hear the wind being taken out of their sails, but let’s be real, THIS IS SO CUTTEEEEE. Also, way out of my nail box, so… snaps for me!

P.S. My nail salon is Marilyn Monroe Nails on Mills, and Ryan/Nancy (they were extra busy that day and tagged teamed it!) did this manicure! If you go, tell them I sent you… they are THE BEST and the sweetest!

Hope your weekend was equally as lovely, but for now I am off to go get this week started! Cheers to an extra fabulous and productive week!!  xoxo
