Good Morning and Happy Monday to you!

Here is just a peek at what I was up to this weekend”¦

Photo 1. My Sister-in-Law’s Gender Reveal Cake

Because I’m nuts, I volunteered myself to bake the cake for my sister-in-law and brother-in-law’s gender reveal party. I am not necessarily a pastry chef, but I love a good challenge and I love my sister-in-law, so why the heck not, right?! After making a complete and utter disaster in my kitchen (and having to call in reinforcements!), the cake ended up turning out even better than I could have hoped! Not only did it taste amazing, but I had so much fun baking it knowing that I was the only one in the whole family who knew what the gender was… let’s be real, I felt EXTRA special holding such a precious secret for, like, a full 6 hours!!

P.S. I’ll share the whole recipe on the blog later (with better photos!!); it turned out too good not to share!

Photo 2. Lilly Pulitzer Romper

Again, because I’m nuts, on a whim last week I purchased this crazy jumper from Lilly Pulitzer. I stopped by the Lilly Pulitzer store after a meeting to say hi to a few of my favorite girls and walked out with a bag. Not exactly what I was planning on doing but hey, when in Rome (or Lilly!)! My husband and I went out for a little date night, dinner, and a movie on Saturday, and I sported my new, spiffy jumper. I would be totally lying to you if I told you that I didn’t feel EXTRA cool.

On Sunday evening, we hosted a little Mother’s Day Picnic! There is just nothing more I love than a house full of people and food in the oven. Honestly, it just fills my love tank right up! Also, I love our mommas; they are the best and deserve a day that is all about them. 

I hope your weekend was equally as lovely, but for now I am off to go get this week started! Cheers to an extra fabulous and productive week!!
