The Best Foundations
Foundation can be tricky. It’s hard enough to find the RIGHT shade for your skin tone let alone the right amount of coverage. Honestly, it’s confusing. But below is a list of my favorite foundations in order of coverage, depending on your mood! Coverages can range from tinted moisturizers or skin tint to medium coverage to full coverage. The ones I’m sharing are all liquid foundations but there are also powder foundations that might work for you too (I would stay away from powder foundation if you have dry skin). As someone who has very sensitive skin, I can vouch the foundations I’m sharing below as not irritating but, as we all have different skin types, you may want to try a sample of something before committing to the regular size product.
Hopefully this list helps the next time you are looking for foundation.
Also, as a side note, no one ever said you couldn’t mix foundations! So feel free to be a rebel and mix away. I do this all the time! I am also always trying new formulas. Next on my list is the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation with hyaluronic acid and the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation– I’ve heard good things!
Now, this foundation doesn’t mess around. It’s FULL coverage people and it stays put. Like you are painting on a canvas. Although I will say that the finish is beautiful. But I only ever use this mixed in with tinted moisturizer or in with my regular sheer coverage foundation if I’m going to be photographed all day. You can definitely get a good 12 hours of wear with this one.
Okay, so this foundation has been a favorite of mine for years and years. I love this liquid foundation because it really has a flawless matte finish and just sits on your skin so nicely. It won’t settle into any fine lines. Also, it has SPF in it which you know makes me so so so happy! With 50 shades in its shade range, you really can’t go wrong with this one.
This is my favorite foundation of the moment, I cannot begin to say enough amazing things about it. Truthfully the coverage is very light, but it’s definitely build-able and easy to apply, which I’m into! Also, the finish on this one will make your skin glow… but not in a shiny way. Once you Giorgio, you won’t go back.
And like I said above, I am all about mixing foundations. So if I need a little extra oomph, I’ll mix in one of the ones above!
I live for a good tinted moisturizer and this is my O.G. Since I live in Florida I practically live in this, and most days this is what I’m wearing. And if I need it, I’ll add a pump of the above foundation mixed in for a teeny bit more coverage.
Tinted moisturizer is great for evening out your skin and giving it a glow. I always feel my best when I’m wearing just a bit of this!
Also, just as an FYI, I think the oil free version is the best, especially if you are more oily skinned, like me.
