Ready for Sunshine

In Partnership with Walmart and ShopStyle. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

Last week Ryan and I were both craving the beach. We’d both said it separately to each-other multiple times earlier in the week, so we decided to take off one afternoon and head to the coast. We are only about an hour or so from the Satellite Beach/Indialantic area so it’s totally doable as an afternoon trip, and it’s amazing!

I grew an hour North in Titusville (think, where the shuttles and rockets are launched) which is also on the coast. I spent the majority of my childhood in this area and honestly it feels more like home than the Titusville beaches. My parents have one of their galleries in Indialantic, so needless to say we spent lots of time there.

Favorite Beach Spots

All of my favorite places are on these beaches like – Beachside Bagel World, Da Kine Diego, Long Doggers, and of course Sassy Granny’s Shaved Ice! We never miss an opportunity to hit at least one or two while we are in town and on this particular trip we popped by Sassy Granny’s for watermelon shaved ice!

Even though we weren’t in full vacation mode or even have the entire day off there is nothing like a few hours of sunshine, ocean air, and a sweet treat! I have no idea why we don’t make these trips more often… we vowed on our way home to make it more of a thing.

White Dress with Kaftan Outfit

Since I knew we wouldn’t be going in the water at the beach, a bathing suit wasn’t necessary, so I opted for this pretty little $18 shift dress, a straw hat, and floral kaftan (all finds!). I thought the look would keep me cool, but also protected from the sun… and honestly there isn’t a better combination in my book. I ended up loving the look and felt so much like myself.

As for the kaftan, it’s the first one I’ve owned and guys… I’m obsessed with it. I felt so cool and beach-y, ha! I twirled around in it all day. I think this will definitely become a staple in my closet this season. Seriously, just think of all the things you could pair it with!! Not to mention it would make a great beach cover-up!

I also broke out my new white slides for the trip as well and I gotta tell you. They are so cute! I’ve been wearing them non-stop (see here!). I love that they are under $60 and come in tons of colors, but the white just screams SPRING to me!

The real moral of this story is that I got everything, yes, everything online at A few weeks ago I wrote that Lord and Taylor is now available on and together they are really making waves in the fashion department… I just can’t get enough!

  1. I love that you are sharing affordable outfits. I have 3 kids and trying to justify splurges makes me feel silly. I’d rather buy $18 dress at Walmart and save the rest to do something fun. Don’t get me wrong I love seeing the splurges and trying to replicate with places I shop. . You’re beautiful as always.

  2. Love the Kaftan! I have a couple of them which I love wearing in the summer. One suggestion – stay away from the ones that have fringe on the bottom. Not that I don’t love the fringe, but every damn time I wear it and get in my car, the fringe gets stuck in the door. Every time!!! 🙂 Glad you have such a good day. You guys deserve it!
