There are so many members of a hotel’s staff that you encounter and sometimes it can be confusing as to who does what and who you should tip.  Here’s a quick rundown on people to look for.

The Doorman: Gives you directions, hails cabs, and greets you with a smile.  He should be thanked and tipped for any and all services.

The Parking Attendant: Tips are usually part of the parking attendant’s salary, keep this in mind when you tip.

The Concierge: The concierge seems to know all, don’t they?  They provide reccommendations, order tickets, make reservations.  Feel free to tip on the spot for special services or upon checkout.

Front Desk Personnel: These people also provide information like the concierge.  Just don’t distract them from checking in guests, if you feel that’s the case, defer to the concierge.
