Tuesday Morning Musings | No. 214

Such a full family weekend…

I bumped our typical Monday post to Tuesday this week so we could focus on introducing our August Book Club selection and friends, if you haven’t ordered it yet, do it! Such a fun read… it’s one of those books that you just can’t put down.

Anyway… we really did have such a fun and family full weekend! Laurens is a total champ because we were seriously on the go, and both Saturday and Sunday night we successfully did the-carseat-to-the-crib transfer. (Speaking of, did you see his nursery reveal? I’m obsessed with how it all turned out!)

On Saturday morning we went on a family walk and then one of my best girlfriends came over for breakfast and coffee. (All about my coffee routine here!) We spent a few hours just catching up and by the time she left my cup had been filled right up! Nothing quite like girl talk with your best friend while holding a smiling baby.

Once she left, I spent nap time I cleaning up the house, baking these healthy cookies (which, by the way, are delicious), and finishing up Laurens’ baby announcements… I can’t wait for them to arrive! I swear I can get more done in an hour than ever before! Later that evening we headed down to my in-laws for a big family cookout where there was lots of watermelon and baby snuggles. Ryan’s brothers (three out of the six were in town!) passed around Laurens, playing with him and rocking him to sleep, and he LOVED every second. So sweet to see their relationships forming, I love it so.

And on Sunday after church (I wore this dress), we swung by Trader Joe’s to scoop up some flowers so I could put together an arrangement (DIY coming soon!) as a “welcome home” gift for my sister and brother-in-law. They moved into the home that they’ve been renovating (themselves!) over the weekend, so it was so much fun to head to Titusville and celebrate them and help. Plus, we stayed for a family dinner after which was the best.

I’m so grateful that both of our families live 45-minutes away in each direction, and it’s so nice to have quality time with them when we can! And this weekend we knocked it out of the park by seeing both sides… such a win!

Okay, now that I’ve totally caught you up on our weekend, let’s get into the five things I’m loving right now…

5 Things I’m Loving

A few new obsessions…

Pretty in Pink

I love little blouses like this that you can throw on with just about anything and feel instantly put together and pretty! Plus, you know I love a top with functioning buttons… and on sale!

Give me all the Birkenstocks

I ordered Laurens these adorable teeny tiny Birkenstock look-alike and now I’m jealous… I think I need these to match him. I love the canvas color, so adorable! I have these (under $50!) and LOVE them, so it may be time for the real thing!

Make an (earring!) statement

I’m pretty specific when it comes to statement earrings and these check all my boxes! Aren’t they stunning?! Pair them with a white oversized button down and a little cocktail dress… they go with everything!

Loving this Lip Crayon

Laura Mercier just launched a new lip formula and I’ve VERY into it. Honestly, it’s like a lip stain and a lip balm had a baby. 10 out of 10 for me! Wearing the shade “Miaia” in the photo above.

What a Colorful Knit Dress

I cannot for the life of me get this dress out of my head. Is it not SO fun?! Would be adorable with a pair of sandals or my favorite strappy heels. I feel like I just need to go ahead and order it already. Right?
