The Best Hot Chocolate You’ve Ever Had!

Okay, so let’s be clear on two things first… 1. This is the best recipe of all time and 2. I am not even close to being a Vegan! I mentioned in this post a few weeks ago that my immediate family combined have gluten, dairy, egg, and nut allergies so when I master a vegan/nut free recipe like this one it’s practically like creating magic. Also, I hate it when my sister comes over and I have something for everyone except for her, so when I can I dabble in the “fill-in-the-blank-free” recipes I do!

I often joke that if it is vegan then it must contain kale. So I stand firm behind the fact that this hot cocoa recipe is as good for you as a kale spinach smoothie.

Anyway, I promise that this is just as good as the real thing and that you’ll never make Swiss Miss again after you’ve tasted this holiday goodness!

Vegan Hot Cocoa

Ingredients:
2.5 cups of coconut milk
1/3 cup of 100% Ghiradelli Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
pinch of salt
1 tsp of vanilla
3 tbs of coconut sugar
Directions:
Heat the coconut milk in a sauce pan on medium. Once the milk is hot (not boiling) whisk in the cocoa powder. Then add in the rest of the ingredients. Whisk together until everything is combined, pour, and serve! Feel free to add more sugar or salt to the recipe to give it an extra punch! Top with toasted marshmallows.

It’s practically the easiest recipe you’ll ever make! But here’s the deal, if you make it you HAVE to tell me about it… I’m dying to know what you think!

Hope you enjoy!

  1. The coconut milk… Does the recipe call for the coconut milk in the can (the full fat version) or the kind found in the carton in the refrigerated section of the grocery store? Or, will either option work? Thank you! Love you and your business!

    • Hi Ashley! I typically just use the regular coconut milk you get in the dairy section… but I don’t see why canned wouldn’t work just as well! You’ll have to let me know if you try it out! xx

      • Hi there, 🙂
Thanks so much for your reply! I love following you on social so much. So, I made this recipe to a “T” and used the coconut milk from the refrigerated section and it’s SO YUM! Plus, I love that it’s tasty but not hard on my waist line. 😉

    • Oh that’s so fun! You’ll HAVE to let me know what she says… I’m bias, but I think it’s the best. 😉
