I hope you all had a wonderful and restful weekend! Here is just a peek at what I was up to”¦
1. Weekend Reading
We tried really hard to take this weekend slow with lots of reading, movie watching, and pajama wearing. After a few crazy non-stop weeks, we were in desperate need of some down time, and we did just that! I even had the opportunity to get around to all of those pretty magazines and catalogs that had been stacking up on my coffee table. I ended up doing a little interior and travel day dreaming, which is never a bad thing!
2. Sunny Saturdays
This weekend was stunning! Blue skies as far as the eye could see and the temperature hovered at around 75 which, quite literally, made for the perfect weekend. We definitely took advantage by going on long walks, eating outside, and keeping the windows open. More days like this please!
3. New Beauty
Another perk of staying home this past weekend was finally getting the chance to try out a few new beauty products that I’ve had on my vanity for a few weeks now! I like being able to take my time and really test out a new beauty product before I share them here with you. Out of the ones I tried this weekend, these are my fave!
Essie Gel Couture Polish – This stuff is amazing! It dries super fast and lasts 9+ days! I tried it out a few weekends ago and loved it. This weekend, I applied my second trial run of the polish, and I’ve got to tell you… I may never buy another type of polish again! It’s truly THAT GOOD.
Goop by Juice Beauty Exfoliator– WHOA! Well, first let me say that this stuff is INTENSE. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT try this before you are going to go somewhere! And make sure you test it out on a small patch of skin before putting all over your face. I made the major mistake of just putting it on, and then I got distracted once it was on by reading reviews. I left it on for 4-5 minutes instead of the suggested 1-3 minutes. Let’s just say, I legit burnt my face, and it hurt. It took a good few hours on Sunday for my face to look normal again. It was bad, like really bad. BUT, with that said, the results where magical once the swelling/burning stopped. I’m definitely going to try it again, but only for like 30 seconds NOT 5 minutes!
Stranded Dry Shampoo in Blonde – I recently did a blog post on my favorite dry shampoo, and I was so excited to also get the chance to try this one. I have a few different “loose powder” shampoos, and this one is by far my favorite! It left my hair clean looking without being ashy or dull, and it smells very neutral, not overly aggressive! I also braided my hair after I used powder, and I love how it really held my braid together! I’d highly recommend this one!
