I’m the girl you are going to want to sit next to on an airplane, road trip, etc. I always have snacks in my handbag, ALWAYS. It’s one of those things where I’m ranking right up there with keys and phone: I do not leave the house without snacks. I wish I was one of those people who could have black coffee and toast in the morning and then maybe a yogurt around 3:00 p.m., and if the hunger really started to get out of control, a side salad for dinner. Well, friends, I hate to break it to you, but I am not that girl! When I don’t have food, I cannot think, get a little cray cray, and all kinds of dizzy. #hangry doesn’t even describe it. I have learned that snacks are my friend. I am not a fast food girl (besides Chick fil’ A, because come on! That’s not even fast food!); it makes me feel icky and tired, so I try to always be prepared with healthy snacks so that when I get hungry, I know that I can eat something that is genuinely good for my body!
Since it’s the new year and all, I thought it would be fun to show you a few of my favorite “always-have-on-hand” snacks!

Lara Bars – They have just a few ingredients in them, which I love! Too many ingredients on the back of a package, means it cannot be good for you! I always keep a handful of these around; they are the perfect “hold you over” snack!
Apples – I will wash and dry an apple in a paper towel, then wrap it up in the paper towel and put the whole thing in a zip lock back before tucking it into my bag, that way, I have somewhere to put the core when I’m done–plus, a napkin! (I told you I’m good at this!)
Almonds and Dark Chocolate Chips – This combo will forever be my favorite. It’s like dessert, but it’s not! Also, it keeps me FULL.
