Ashley Brooke Desigs_Desk Obsessed_Lizzie Wirgau

This week’s Desk Obsessed features the a good friend of mine Lizzie Wirgau of Market Colors! I met Lizzie through a few mutual friends and we instantly hit it off! Lizzie has started a fabulous nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving quality of life in Africa. Lizzie’s company has found the perfect marriage of e-commerce and nonprofit… it’s just the coolest thing ever… you must check it out! And I am honored to be able to call Lizzie a friend! So as you can imagine I am super excited to feature her desk obsessions today, I hope you enjoy!!

Name and Occupation?

Lizzie Wirgau, Founder & CEO of Market Colors

Is your desk more OCD organized or artistically organized chaos?

I have seasons of both. But, usually artistically organized chaos. Post-it notes are a must!

What’s your go to pen or pencil? (We know you have a favorite!)

For typical writing, Pilot Precise V5. For drawing/writing out big ideas… a black sharpie on a giant Rhodia pad of paper.

What are you listening to at your desk these days? If you prefer to work in silence, is there a song or album that’s gets your juices flowing when you’re stuck in a rut?

I have a few songs that have been the “Market Colors Theme Songs” since the early days… Old Pine by Ben Howard, Hard Times by Eastmountainsouth, and A to B by Matt Hires. Other favorites are Mumford & Sons, Jon Foreman, Johnny Cash, Mat Kearney, The City Harmonic, and, for the occasional office-dance-party… anything Rocket Summer.
Are there snacks or treats within arms reach of your desk? What are they?

Honestly… a jar of chocolate peanut butter, grapes, and thanks to Ashley… popcorn.

What 3 Things on your desk keep you on track and inspired?

My current-read… Start Something That Matters by Blake Mycoskie of Toms, quotes from C.S. Lewis, Tozer, and Thoreau, and that giant Rhodia pad of paper.
Rhodia Pad, Ben Howard, EastMountainSouth, Matt Hires, Chocolate PB, Market Colors Bracelet, Market Colors T-shirt, Pens, Sharpie, Post-its
